Furniture!!!

We finally have a (mostly) furnished house!! The most exciting thing is the return of our bed (yeah...no more air mattresses!!!) and having a basement once again! I missed basements so much after moving to Texas and am so excited to have one again that the kids can play in. I am going to get the rest of the house cleaned up today and take some picutres so everyone can see it.

I am determined to write more in our blog now that we are settled. Some pretty funny things have been happening lately that I keep forgetting to write about. Merrick has always been pretty silly, but he is really starting to show his personality now that life is finally calming down. He is very inquisitive, and is constantly asking, "Mama, what's that sound?", "Mama, what's that?", "Why are you doing that?", and he understands the difference between he, she, hers, his and using other words correctly, like yours and mine (that's been going on for a while!) He is constantly making us laugh. Last night he was frustrated with eating rice with a spoon, so he just shoved it onto the table and ate it with his mouth right off the table!

The poor little guy also threw up all over Burke at a deli across the street from us last weekend. We were finally out to dinner (which we don't ever do here because there really aren't many places to go with NYC being so close) and Merrick got a piece of chicken stuck in his throat and was crying, and then threw up his whole dinner all over Burke and the seat. I was so glad that I was on the other side of the table :) It was full on projectile vomiting.

Merrick also finally likes to wear hats...and helmets. He always wants to wear his bike helmet around the house, and his summer hat from last year, which of course he wouldn't touch back then, but now that it is getting too small....he loves it!

Phillip will be here this Saturday for one week, and we have family from Pennsylvania coming to stay with us Saturday night too. I will update with lots of pictures soon!!
